Club Affairs 13th October 2009

Our guest Tom, who has been a Rotarian for over 20 years and is the elect Governor for the 1600 district gave a brief presentation on the Rotary Foundation future vision plan which will start, with a pilot project, in the period 2010-2013 and in which our District will take part.
The project has the aim of giving a larger autonomy to the districts with larger funds available at the district's own discretion and without relying on Evanston or Rotary, reducing the administrative costs of the foundation and favouring the set up of projects in the 6 areas set up by Rotary International.
The participation of the District in this pilot project will imply a different organization of the District Rotary Foundation committee with the setting up of a special and transparent foundation account, the creation of a subcommittee in charge of the grants and, in relation to Clubs, generate some changes on the process to obtain matching grants and more information will be transmitted to the Clubs at the Rotary Foundation seminar (18/02/2010) and the PETS (12-13/03/2010).
For the time being if you wish to have more details on this topic you can check the Rotary International website:
