India by H.E. Mambir Singh

Dev introduced the speaker of the evening, His Excellency Mambir Singh who, prior to his posting as ambassador of India to the Netherlands, has served in many diplomatic posts and has served as the chief of protocol of the Indian government.

His Excellency gave a quick overview of his country on the geographic, religious and historical point of view and then went to discuss the goals of Indian foreign policy which aims to strengthen the international relations while keeping a close-to-neutral position and to promote peace and cooperation.

He then briefly tackled the nuclear and defence policies and finished his speech by proudly emphasising the steady economic growth of his country.

The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session and Giuseppe thanked the speaker on behalf of the Club.

Finally Julia presented Mr. Singh with a copy of the "Taste for life" cookbook.
